More About
Born without a left forearm, Claire Cashmore was determined that nothing would stand in her way.
At the age of nine, she competed in a swimming gala in Dubai, where she was living. One of her competitors noticed her disability and asked her how she could swim.
Instead of retaliating, Claire let her talent answer, winning the race. Returning to the UK two years later, she joined the Wyre Forest Swimming Club, with her hard work earning her the title of Junior British Champion.
Claire Cashmore | Professional Career
Claire made her professional debut when she qualified for the 2004 Athens Games aged 16, and it was a debut to remember, coming home with two bronze medals.
She continued this success at the 2008 Beijing Games, the 2012 London Games, the 2016 Rio Games, and the 2020 (rearranged to 2021) Tokyo Games.

After the Rio Games, Claire took some time to reflect on her career, ultimately deciding to transfer from swimming to the paratriathlon.

She won medals at the GBR Paratriathlon National Championships, Eton Dorney ITU Paratriathlon World Cup, Iseo-Franciacorta ITU World Paratriathlon Series, Tartu ETU Triathlon European Championships, and ITU World Triathlon Grand Final in Australia.
Claire competed at the 2024 Paris games, coming home with a Silver Medal in the individual triathlon.
