Sport has always been a big part of Jessica Creighton’s life.

She spent her childhood and teenage years playing football for Charlton Athletic Women.

After graduating with a degree in Broadcast Journalism, she secured early opportunities with the BBC, where she quickly established herself as a rising talent.

Her work spanned BBC Sport and Radio 5 Live, where she produced and presented across a variety of platforms, gaining experience in both live broadcasting and long-form storytelling.

These formative years allowed Jessica to hone her on-air presence and editorial skills and build a reputation for insightful, thoughtful reporting.

Beginning her career as a BBC trainee, Jessica was soon promoted to Olympic Sports Reporter, where she produced films on British and international athletes and their journeys to, and during, the 2012 London Games.

She went on to front coverage for BBC Sport and Radio 5 Live before broadening her portfolio with TalkSPORT, where she received a prestigious Radio Academy Award for her acclaimed documentary series Coming in from the Cold, shining a spotlight on the pioneering achievements of black footballers.

From there, Jessica’s career gathered momentum, leading to presenting roles with BT Sport (now TNT Sport) and, ultimately, Sky Sports, where she became a regular face on Sky Sports News and anchored live coverage of global tournaments, including the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup.

Alongside these achievements, she has reported from four Olympic Games, two European Championships, two FIFA World Cups, and the 2018 Commonwealth Games, establishing herself as one of the UK’s most versatile and respected sports broadcasters.

She has been recognised with industry accolades such as the Radio Academy Award for her groundbreaking TalkSPORT documentary series Coming in from the Cold, which explored the history and experiences of black footballers in Britain.

In 2015, Jessica was named Journalist of the Year by the Women’s Sports Trust, was awarded a place on the Football Black List – which celebrates influential figures in football from the black community – and featured as a rising star of the TV industry by Broadcast Magazine.

As a freelancer, Jessica was headhunted by ITV Sport, BT Sport and Olympic Broadcasting Services.

Jessica has also been appointed as an Independent Non-Executive Director at the Football Association, where she contributes to shaping the future of the national game.

In 2021, she partnered with Women in Football to host a webinar series titled B is for: Black.

The series offered candid conversations with Black and mixed-race women in sport and shared unique perspectives on representation and inclusion.

Alongside her broadcasting and speaking work, Jessica is also the co-founder of Rainbow Noir, a community group dedicated to elevating the voices of LGBTQ+ people of colour and championing greater inclusion within sport.
