The majority of Lucy Ward’s sporting career was spent at Leeds United, joining them when it was just a community team, and staying whilst the team rose through the ranks.
She was part of the team that played in the 2006 Women’s FA Cup Final.
She also had a short stint at Doncaster Rovers Belles, and represented England in the Under-21 team.
As well as playing for Leeds, she was also Head of Education and Welfare at their academy where she oversaw 250 junior players.
Since retiring, she has become a popular commentator for a variety of television and radio channels.
She has reported at the Women’s World Cup in China, during the Euro Championships in 2009 and 2013, at the London 2012 Olympic Games, and at the Men’s World Cup 2022 in Qatar.
