Katie Summerhayes is a three-times GB Olympian, famed for being a pioneering freestyle skier with exceptional talent and determination on the slopes.
She made history by becoming the first British female skier to win a medal in a World Championships, securing a silver in slopestyle at the 2015 FIS Freestyle Ski and Snowboarding World Championships in Kreischberg, Austria.
Throughout her career, Katie has represented Great Britain in multiple Winter Olympic Games, including Sochi 2014, PyeongChang 2018, and Beijing 2022.

Born in 1995 in Sheffield, Katie Summerhayes quickly emerged as one of the UK’s most promising winter sports athletes.
Katie began skiing at a young age, honing her skills on the dry slopes of Sheffield before transitioning to snow.
Her natural ability and passion for freestyle skiing led her to compete internationally at a young age, and she quickly rose through the ranks to become one of the sport’s leading figures.

Katie Summerhayes | International Career
Katie made her World Championships debut in 2011 and achieved numerous podium finishes during her career.
In 2013, she earned her first World Cup podium, securing silver in Silvaplana. The following years saw her dominate at the World Junior Ski Championships, capturing bronze and gold in 2013 and 2014, respectively.
In 2015, she made history by winning a silver medal at the World Championships in Kreischberg.
Her competitive streak continued with another World Cup podium in Stubai in 2017.
Katie’s final competition in March 2022 saw her narrowly miss the podium, finishing fourth at the place where she first stood on a World Cup podium – Silvaplana.
As comes with the sport, Katie has suffered several injuries, mainly to her Anterior Cruciate Ligament (ACL), which joins your thigh bone to the front of your shin bone.
But she didn’t let these injuries hold her back, and she has appeared at three Winter Olympic Games.
