Laura Winter is a sports presenter, specialising in Formula One, rugby, and cycling, amongst a variety of other sports.

She is also a popular event host, podcast host, and commentator.

Her professional career started at the International Rowing Federation (FISA) in Switzerland, where she worked at major international regattas around the world.

She then played a key role in the rowing communications team at the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games.

She then moved into journalism upon returning to the UK, working for a regional newspaper on the sports desk, while securing her NCTJ qualification in sports journalism.

Laura Winter currently presents from around the world, for Prime Video Sport, BT Sport, Sky Sports, and ITV Sport F1.

Laura Winter has always been into sports, and spent twelve years as a competitive swimmer.

She has also been a rugby fan for many years, and 2020 saw her fulfil a dream by reporting on the Autumn Nations Cup for Prime Video Sport, broadcasting alongside international rugby legends.

She has also worked in Premiership Cup and European Rugby, bringing BT Sport viewers all the action pitch-side, with pre- and post-match interviews with players and coaches.

She has been an integral part of the live broadcast of Henley Royal Regatta, the first in history, on BT Sport, working alongside Mark Durden Smith, and Olympic champions Sir Steve Redgrave and Sir Matthew Pinsent.

Formula 1 and Driving

Laura Winter is a popular voice in the world of Formula 1 and other driving sports. In 2019, she presented four rounds of the World Rallycross Championship, before making her debut in Formula 1 at the 2019 Belgian Grand Prix.

From 2020 to 2024, she presented F1’s pre-race and post-race show on F1 TV with co-host Will Buxton and correspondent Lawrence Baretto, before becoming lead presenter in 2025.

She has also covered the sport for F1 TV and Sky Sports F1 from the F1 Testing and various Grand Prix, as well as working virtually throughout the Covid-stricken 2020 season, regularly interviewing the top drivers.

Cycling

A keen cyclist herself, Laura Winter has worked extensively in covering cycling events.

Most recently, she hosted the Bora Hansgrohe professional team podcast Eat Sleep Race Repeat, and was the dedicated British Cycling broadcaster, presenting the national championships, and the national road and circuit series for ITV 4, BBC Sport and Eurosport.

In 2024, she hosted the Tour de France Femmes for Eurosport. She has also been the reporter and commentator for the Tour of California women’s race for NBC in the United States.

She has contributed to BBC Newsnight, BBC World Service, BBC 5 Live, BBC Wales, and on The Bradley Wiggins Podcast.

Laura was also the presenter, reporter, and voiceover for the Voxwoman Cycling Show, scripting and producing at the biggest cycling races in the world.

She has presented the highlights of the British Cycling National Women’s Road Series for Eurosport; covered the British Cycling National Time Trial Championships and the British Cycling Cyclocross Championships; and co-host alongside Olympic champion Joanna Rowsell Shand.

Laura was nominated as one of the ‘100 Women in Cycling’ in 2019 thanks to her passion to increase the profile of women in cycling and sport in general.

She is a keen cyclist and loves riding on UK roads and internationally, and is passionate about giving women’s cycling and sport the coverage and recognition they deserve.

Laura Winter has been at the forefront of reporting on female sporting events, and has covered events such as the Women’s Cricket World Cup and FA Women’s Football.

Laura Winter hosts her own podcast titled Lessons Learned, where she interviews notable figures in the sports industry.

Guests have included Sir Matthew Pinsent, Ugo Monye, Rebecca Adlington, Sam Warburton, and Sir Chris Hoy.

She has contributed to BBC Radio Gloucestershire and BBC Radio 2 on women’s sport, Paralympic Games, and, unsurprisingly, cycling.

She has also written for the Women’s Sports Trust website The Mixed Zone, which aims to give women’s sport the coverage and recognition they deserve.

On International Women’s Day in 2019, Laura was violently attacked by her then-boyfriend, enduing up in hospital and with PTSD.

She is now passionate about helping others, speaking about her own struggle with trauma and aiming to encourage others to seek help.
