After graduating, Manish Bhasin spent five years at BBC Radio Leicester as their sports presenter and commentator on the show Drive at 5. During this period, he commentated on the Leicester Tigers’ victories in the 2001 Rugby European Cup Final against Stade Francais and the following year against Munster. In 2001, he joined ITV’s Central News East, presenting in-depth coverage of the region’s essential sport news and Soccer Sunday. During his time here, he was nominated for a Royal Television Society Sport Award or Regional Sports Presenter or Commentator of the Year.

He joined the BBC in 2004, appearing on the weekly show Football Focus discussing the weekend’s top football action. By the next series, he was front and centre as their main presenter, becoming the show’s youngest regular host at 27. In his capacity of a football presenter, he has covered highlights of the 2006 African Cup of Nations, and worked as a roving reporter for the 2006 FIFA World Cup.

Other football-related programmes he has been involved in are The Football League Show (BBC), Late Kick Off (BBC), the World Cup group stage match coverage in 2014 for BBC Three, and the Euro 2016 coverage for BBC Four.

Outside of presenting, Manish is a key supporter of the British Asian Trust charity, previously working with the then-Prince Charles. He is also a supporter of the Lord’s Taveners Charity. Manish has now gained an enviable reputation as a trusted authority on sports presenting and is now often booked as a speaker or live event host.
