Sarah Mulkerrins’ first foray into professional sports broadcasting was in 2008, when she joined Setanta Sports as an Assistant Producer and Video Journalist, staying there until 2011 when she moved to the BBC.

She moved from Dublin to Manchester in 2011, initially working on their football league show Late Kick Off and then moving to present BBC World Service Radio’s Sportsworld.

On the radio, she has covered women’s football world cups, the Rio Olympic Games, Wimbledon, and Premier League games.

On television, Sarah has been seen presenting on BBC Breakfast and the News at Ten, anchoring from the Tokyo Olympics.

She is also the co-presenter on the BBC’s sporting news podcast, The Sports Desk.

She has covered everything from cricket to protests at sporting events, golf, racism in sports, horse racing, exercise, female sporting clothes, the ban on Russian players during the Ukraine war, rugby, eating disorders among athletes, football world cups, and much more.

She has interviewed sporting legends, including managers Gareth Southgate and Arsene Wenger, footballers Erling Haaland, Claire Rafferty, and Christian Eriksen, and ex-sportsman and football pundit Ian Wright.

Sarah is also the BBC’s Gaelic Athlete Association (GAA) presenter, hosting all-Ireland sporting events across the BBC to all UK audiences.

As well as her TV and radio presenting work, Sarah is a popular event host and moderator, and has delivered events for the London Irish Business Society, Irish Department of Foreign Affairs, Broadcast Sports, and the Global Irish Forum.
