Teddy Sheringham

Terry Sheringham is a legendary English football player, known for playing for Manchester United and the international side.

Over his 24-year professional career, he played as a forward, mostly as a second striker, and he is the tenth-highest goal score in the history of the Premier League with 147 goals. He also holds the record as the oldest outfield player to appear and score in a Premier League match.

Whilst at Manchester United, he won every major honour in the domestic and European game, including the Premier League, FA Cup, and Champions League treble in 1999. Over his club career, he signed for Millwall, Aldershot, Djurgårdens IF, Nottingham Forest, Tottenham Hotspur, Portsmouth, West Ham, and Colchester.

His career also included 51 caps for England, starring in the Euro Championships 1996 alongside strike partner Alan Shearer as England made the semi-finals on home soil.

Teddy Sheringham’s career stared at Millwall, where he remains the club’s second all-time leading scorer with over 200 appearances. Whilst with the team, he won the Football League Second Division – a taste of success that would follow him for years to come.

He went on to play for Nottingham Forest where he scored his first ever Premier League goal. After just a year there, he was signed by Tottenham Hotspur, where he stayed for five seasons before moving to Manchester United.

It is his time at Manchester United that is seen as the defining period of his career. He won three Premier League titles, an FA Cup, the coveted UEFA Champions League, and Intercontinental Cup, and an FA Charity Shield.

He moved back to Tottenham Hotspur at the end of the 2000-01 season, appearing in the final of the 2001-02 Football League Cup. Leaving Tottenham, he spent one season at Portsmouth, three years at West Ham United, and a year at Colchester United, before retiring from professional football.

After completing his coaching badges, he was appointed as the manager of Stevenage in 2015, moving to manage ATK in 2017-2018.
