More About
The son of famous broadcaster Chris Tarrant, Toby Tarrant started his national broadcasting career in 2014, presenting the early breakfast show for Capital FM. Two years later he moved to Radio X, hosting the same time show from 4-6.30am. Thanks to his increasing listener figures – up 29% on the last presenter – he moved to the mid-morning slot which now reaches over a million listeners a week. He also covers other shows on the station when needed, demonstrating his versatility and reliability.
He has appeared on TV shows including Pointless Celebrities, Richard Osman’s House of Games, and The 1 % Club for UNICEF. He also co-hosts the cricket podcast Zero Ducks Given with former international cricketer Steven Finn and commentator Dan Norcross, which focuses more on stories, humour and character rather than just statistics.
He has also worked as a digital content presenter for the 2023 and 2024 Soccer Aid for UNICEF games, and in 2025/26 he took his stand up tour ‘Utter Bloke Nonsense’ around the UK.
Toby Tarrant | Beyond Broadcasting
Beyond his broadcasting career, Toby has become well known for his dedication to charitable causes and his adventurous approach to fundraising. In 2018, he completed the London Marathon in support of Global’s Make Some Noise campaign, raising more than £31,000.
Demonstrating his flair for combining humour with philanthropy, he later took on an unusual challenge by pedalling a unicorn-shaped pedalo along the River Thames, which captured public imagination and ultimately raised an extraordinary £250,000 for the same charity.
A passionate sports fan, he is particularly devoted to cricket, playing locally for Stoke D’Abernon in Surrey, as well as following Liverpool FC. His enthusiasm for the game feeds directly into his co-hosting role on the popular cricket podcast Zero Ducks Given. The show gives a hilarious look at the world of cricket – less about the stats, much more about the stories.
