More About

Marion Bartoli | Playing Career

Marion Bartoli was introduced to tennis by her father when she was just six years old, and he went on to coach her most of her life.

Marion’s career saw her become the only player ever to have played at both the WTA Tour Championships and the WTA Tournament of Champions in the same year.

Marion’s win at Wimbledon made her only the sixth player in the open era to win the Championships without dropping a single set.

She recorded wins over some of the game’s best players, including Venus Williams, Serena Williams, Lindsay Davenport, Caroline Wozniacki, and Kim Clijsters.

After a bout of injuries, Marion announced her retirement in August 2013, however she returned to professional tennis in 2018, playing in the Tie Break Tens at Madison Square Gardens.
