Having built and sold Pocket Phone Sop for £73 million, Simon Jordan had a taste for entrepreneurship, and in 2002 he co-founded the car magazine Octane, selling 50% of his shareholding in 2006.

After this sale, he opened Club Bar and Dining in London, selling it five years later to the Ottolenghi Group.

 

During his ten years in football, Simmon became one of the most recognisable faces in the game, and led Crystal Palace to the Premier League in 2004, making him the youngest Premier League football club owner at just 36.

In 2005, Simon started writing a fortnightly column for The Observer newspaper before moving to The Sun in 2019, where he wrote his column “Simon Jordan’s Big Opinion”.

He published his autobiography, Be Careful What You Wish For, in 2012, providing an honest and highly controversial look at how the game of football actually works, including the negative side often hidden from the public.

He published his second book, The Intelligent Person’s Guide to Football, in 2025, where he again examined how football works, discussing everything from agents to club owners, to tactics and players.

Simon is a popular pundit on TalkSPORT Radio, thanks to his no-nonsense analysis and willing to challenge conventional thinking.

He co-hosts the Outspoken With White and Jordan Podcast, with Jim White, and together they discussion – along with guests – the most recent sporting stories and breaking news.

Jordan and White also present the – you guessed it – White & Jordan – TalkSPORT’s flagship show full of sporting insight.

The show has won the Audio Show of the Year at the 2021 and 2023 SJA British Sports Journalism Awards.

Aside from appearances in football-related shows, his first major TV appearance came in 2007 when he appeared in Fortune: Million Pound Giveaway for ITV along with fellow Great British Speaker Duncan Bannatyne.

He has since appeared in the Sky Sports late night show The Debate, and on BBC’s Question Time.

Simon is also a film investor, having provided funding for, and executive producing, the BBC film Sweeney Todd (2005), starring Tom Hardy and Ray Winstone.

Then in 2008 he produced the film version of Telstar, based on the play about the life of record producer Joe Meek, starring Kevin Spacey and James Corden.
